Own Skin Health Lifting Eye Cream Review

Wow this last week got away from me! I have been insanely busy with work, but don't worry dear readers, I have some great posts coming up for the month of April. Today, I have a new skincare product to share with you! I have a thing for eye creams. They just make me feel pampered, like I am doing something good for myself. I was very pleased when iFabbo sent me at tube of Own Skin Health Lifting Eye Cream for review. Honestly, my primary excitement came from the packaging. I just think it looks so sleek and pretty. I hadn't heard anything about this cream or the company, so I was even more satisfied when the product inside turned out as nice as the packaging.

MASH Nails Stamped Nail Art

I must admit I always found nail art a little intimidating, but so beautiful and fun. I was really excited to try my hand at some nail stamping when MASH Nails sent me a stamping bundle for review. The process was very easy and the plethora of designs to choose from was incredible.

I have tried nail stamping before with products from other brands. Frankly, it didn't turn out to well. I had really good luck, however, with MASH's stamper and stamping plates. The stamper in particular was very ergonomically designed. As you can see from the photo below, there are little grips along the side which make it easy to hold and prevents slipping when doing the actual stamping. The stamper comes with two different sides for larger and smaller prints. The actual stamping part of the tool was really springy which helped with application. I found it molded to my nails, including my thumbnail, so that the design applied to my entire nail. Really excellent design!

Pevonia Spa Clinica Redness Relief Regimen

I recently had the opportunity to try Pevonia Spa Clinica's Redness Relief skincare regimen (products were sent to me for review). The products in this line are formulated with green tea to help reduce redness, particularly for those with rosacea. After using this for several weeks, I must say that I am impressed overall. I am very picky about my skincare, particularly facial creams, but found that most of the products in this line worked for me with one exception. Pevonia Spa Clinica has an interesting system whereby you can pick one of four basic regimens based on your skin care needs: Redness Relief, Skin Perfecting, Anti-Aging, or Breakout Erase. Lately, I have experienced quite a bit of redness around my nose and chin, so I thought this was the perfect chance to try the Redness Relief regimen. Each regimen comes with a cleanser, toner, serum, and cream. You can then add additional serums based on any other issues you want to address. Since I tend to get puffiness under my eyes, I also tried the Under Eye serum as well. Each product indicates when it should be applied (AM or PM) on the bottle, which I thought was really quite helpful and clever!

Hard Candy - Itsy Glitzy Collection: Little Hottie and Pinch of Spice

Talk about some gorgeous lacquer! I hate to spoil the surprise for you, but Hard Candy's Itsy Glitzy collection is right up my alley! The polishes are described as "intense, illuminating, and incandescent" - spot on description. The two polishes I tried from this collection, Little Hottie and Pinch of Spice, both seem lit from within and are simply stunning glass fleck micro glitter polishes that are perfect for summer.

Beauty Fix: Too Much Eyeshadow

For my last Beauty Fix post, I shared my tips for how to fix too much blush. Today, I have tips for when you get heavy handed in a different area - the eyeshadow department. It starts out so innocently. Maybe you want to try a bold color or you just load too much product on the brush. The next thing you know your eye makeup is either too bold or too dark. I have been there many times and have come up with some quick fixes.

My Ursula look is great for Halloween but not what we want for everyday!

#1 - Apply a matte powder
The easiest way to fix this, particularly if your shadow is too bold, is to apply a matte taupe shadow, matte face powder, or translucent powder on top of the shadow. This will help tone down the color and can also lighten dark colors.

#2 - Strategically Remove
Often, I end up with too much dark shadow above my crease or on the outside/inside of my eye. This can easily happen even if you are careful where you apply. To fix too much shadow in these areas, take a cotton swab and lightly dip it in make up remover. Very strategically remove only the shadow from the small area that has gotten out of control. You can then blend with a lighter color.

#3 - Blend Out the Edges
Another strategy is to take a larger fluffy eyeshadow brush that is either clean or loaded with a light neutral color and blend around the edges of your shadow. This helps create a more diffuse look. While your makeup will still be bold, it will be slightly softer.

Color Club Halo Hues Collection - Miss Bliss

The weather here has been cold, overcast, and often rainy. Not exactly the best combination for showcasing a holo polish. Like her sister Eternal Beauty, however, Color Club Miss Bliss will brighten up any grey day!

    Color Club Miss Bliss
Color and Finish: I have heard this polish described as anywhere from a soft pink to a fuschia. I think the best way to describe it is a true pink. Not too blue, not too red, and certainly not too bright. It is quite saturated in color and not at all in the pastel range. With the holo finish, it almost takes on a cool silver undertone. Very unique and pretty! I think it is really fascinating how the colors of the rainbow show up differently in each holo depending on the color base. Where Eternal Beauty showcased blues and pinks, Miss Bliss is very prominent on the oranges and silver. For some reason, the blue and purple hues seem to get a bit lost. The holo is certainly strong and linear - no doubt of that. It just looks different on the nail. I am curious to see which colors show up most on the other polishes in this collection.
