L'Oreal True Match Super Blendable Crayon Concealer Review and Swatches (N-1-2-3)

I am a big fan of the L'Oreal True Match line. I often have a hard time finding products that work for me as I am fair (but not extremely so) with a pink undertone. It can be hard to find cool tone products that don't make me look gray. I have being using the L'Oreal Super Blendable Concealer in C-1-2-3 since it debuted a few years ago and love it. I was both curious and excited when I heard about the crayon concealer in the same collection.

    L'Oreal True Match Crayon Concealer

Color:  I was initially a bit hesitant to purchase this as I was unable to find it in the cool undertone line anywhere. I got so frustrated I finally went to the L'Oreal website and found out that they do not make any cool toned concealers in this variety. Frankly, I am a bit surprised by that. I know they are notorious for not producing deep tones, but L'Oreal normally has lots of good options for more fair tones, including pink undertones. I still wanted to try the crayon concealer so I picked up the lightest neutral N 1-2-3. Surprisingly, it worked really well. The neutral color works particularly well on any red spots on my face. That being said, if you are very cool toned, this might not be the best option for you.

    Beauty Fix: Too Much Blush

One of my biggest beauty issues, or faux pas as some would say, is wearing too much blush. I am always afraid of looking like a little old lady who has smeared on too much rouge. Plus with my (somewhat) fair pink skin, blush really shows up on me. I cannot count the number of times I have applied blush in the bathroom and then seen myself in the car in natural light and been terribly embarrassed by how much blush I was wearing. Thus, I have accumulated a few tricks to help diffuse the situation.

    Too much blush
Not what we are going for!

    #1 - DO NOT RUB!
I repeat DO NOT RUB! This is my number one tip. Trying to rub off the rouge will 1) blend the rouge out to an even larger area and 2) make your skin ruddy, which then enhances the overly red effect.

    #2 - Apply Powder
Applying powder on top of the blush can really help tone it down. Even translucent powder will help the blush look more diffused. This also helps the blush stay in place longer.

#3 - Blot (if you are away from home)
If you find yourself without any powder, go to the bathroom and get a paper towel. Blot your cheeks very gently. If that isn't enough, you can ever so slightly dampen the paper towel and again gently blot (not rub) your cheek.

    #4 - Highlight and Contour
If you find that you have simply applied your blush in all the wrong places and don't want to start over or use makeup remover, you can again diffuse the look of the blush by highlighting and contouring. Apply a soft highlighter above the cheekbones and a slight bronzer or countour shade below. Be sure to blend into the blush with a fresh brush.

    Schick Hydro Silk Razor Review

I have become incredibly picky about my razors the past few years. This is primarily out of survival. I am terrible at shaving my legs. I always miss spots and have little scars to show for my extreme lack of coordination. My skin also does not react well to shaving gels or creams, so the new razor offerings with moisture strips that actually work have been a godsend for my poor legs. I was very pleased to try Schick's latest offering - the Hyrdo Silk - which appears very familiar in concept to the Gilette Venus and Olay razor that I adore. Let's see how the Schick Hydro Silk worked out.

The Hydro Silk has five blades, a razor guard, a moisture strip on both top and bottom, and an ergonomic handle. The head pivots and is replaceable. The moisture strip is activated by water and is intended to be used without gels or creams (although the packaging indicates you can use those as well).

There were several things that I really liked about this razor. Primarily, the handle is the most comfortable and natural handle I have encountered in a razor. It is easy to grip and has a comfortable place for your index finger to provide leverage when shaving. It worked well for both my right and left hand at all different angles. I was not at all concerned with slippage! I also really liked how the head pivoted. It articulates at about a 30 degree angle (to be specific), but is still firm against the skin. This really helped around the knees and in other areas of the body (such as the curvature of armpits). Finally, the razor was also very light weight and the head was compact for storage in the accompanying suction cup holder provided in the kit.

Color Club Halo Hues Collection - Eternal Beauty

Who doesn't love a good holographic nail polish? Honestly, there is nothing more beautiful on the nail than a true linear holo. It gives the nail so much depth and interest, plus you can't stop staring at your fingers! When I heard about the new 2013 Color Club Halo Hues collection, I was very excited to pick up a few bottles. I was not expecting, however, to be totally blown out of the water at how exceptionally beautiful the collection is. Today I have for you Eternal Beauty from this new collection.

Texture: Holy Holo Batman! Look at that linear holo! What is most incredible about this polish (and the others from the collection) is that you see the holo in any form of lighting. Even inside my living room at night with indirect lamp light, I can see the prominent holo on my nails. Simply incredible!
