Olay Smooth Finish Facial Hair Removal Duo - Thoughts and a Review
I have long been intrigued by Olay Smooth Finish Facial Hair Removal Duo. I have light blonde hair on my face, which is both thin and very fair. My concern, therefore, was not that it creates a shadow above my lip, but that sometimes it gets a little long on the sides and simply bothers me. I tried waxing it a few times, but really disliked how the hair grew back. I have also tried plucking the few hairs, but that didn't seem to work either. For Christmas, I received (after asking) the Olay Smooth Finish Facial Hair Removal Duo for Fine to Medium Hair. I had just waxed, so it was not until a few days ago that I was able to try it.

China Glaze Cirque du Soleil: Worlds Away Collection - Def Defying
Everyone once in a blue moon you look at a shade and think "there is no way this is going to work on me" but once you try the shade, you simply fall in love. That perfectly describes my relationship with China Glaze Def Defying. Looking at the bottle, I wasn't sure it would work with my skin tone, but on the nail, WOWZA!
Color: In the bottle, Def Defying looks like a yellow-toned lime green. It isn't quite a pastel, but doesn't look terribly vibrant either. Often, yellow based tones like this really make my skin look gray and sickly. HOWEVER, as soon as I put this on my nails, it took on a apple green color with a slight yellow base. With my pink under-toned skin, it looked like I was wearing a granny smith on my nails. I love it! It feels both very retro and very fresh at the same time. I will definitely be wearing this color a lot this spring!

China Glaze Cirque du Soleil: Worlds Away Collection - Creative Fantasy
The latest collection from China Glaze has had some hits and misses for me. While I loved Running in Circles and Igniting Love, the application of Surreal Appeal was less than stellar. Unfortunately, Creative Fanstasy is also a dud in my book. Here's why:
Color: I love the color of this polish in the bottle. It is a deep purple with blue undertones, like more intense Gothic Lolita from last spring. I thought I would absolutely fall in love with the polish on my nails. Unfortunately, the color just doesn't translate on the nail (a lot of which has to do with the application, which I will discuss below). On the nail, the color is not as rich or vibrant. It takes on almost more of an eggplant undertone. Instead of looking like a rich jewel tone purple, it just looks flat on the nail.

China Glaze Cirque du Soleil: Worlds Away Collection - Running in Circles
Lately, I have become a big fan of green polishes, especially glass fleck polishes. I was so excited when I saw bottle shots of China Glaze's Running in Circles from their latest collection. This polish does not disappoint!
Color: Running in Circles is a vivid emerald green glass fleck. It is incredibly multitonal. The polish has a a slight gold undertone that gives it a lit from within look. You can see all the different tones in the polish in the macro shots below. While this color is appropriate for Christmas, its jewel tone base gives it a fresh vibe that is perfect year round. This is especially fitting for 2013 as Pantone just named Emerald the color of the year. Just looking at this polish in the bottle makes me happy. I would like to note that in the bottle, the color can have a slight blue tone around the edges. This does not appear on the nail. Instead the color reads a true emerald.
