Halloween Makeup - Disney Villains: Maleficent

Happy Halloween! I saved the best for last. My favorite villain, who can put the rest to shame. She's powerful, power hungry, jealous, cold of heart, and can turn into a dragon. The worst of the worst -  Maleficent!

I had a ton of fun with this look. I took her horns as inspiration and stuck with her color palette of green and purple. On the lid, I used several shades of green eye shadow that darkened as I reached the crease. From there, I blended the green into a pewter all the way up to the brow. On the under eye, I used a dark plum eyeliner, which I extended far out beyond the outer eye. On the top lash line, I used a pewter liner which I also extended far beyond the outer eye. This liner met with an over exaggerated brow line that was purposely brought down.

Halloween Makeup - Disney Villains: The Evil Queen

When it comes to cruelty and vanity, the Evil Queen from Snow White takes the cake. She is THE original baddie. I took her gown and attitude as an inspiration. Here is my version of the Evil Queen.

Halloween Makeup - Disney Villains: Ursula

Ursula is an awesome villain. She is ruthless, overly dramatic, and power hungry. Visually, she is one of the most recognizable characters in the Disney cannon. As many of you know, Ursula's look for the film was based on famous drag queen Divine. When it comes to creating a Halloween Ursula look, there aren't really any hard fast rules. Basically, I went a little crazy with the eyeliner and had a ton of fun. For this look you will need black eyeliner and bright blue eye shadow.

Face and Lips
Start with the face. Put on your base as you see fit - if you are going all out, you can go for the purple toned skin Ursula has. I chose to forgo this. Go ahead and use some black liner to draw on the Sea Witch's large mole on her right side. Next, you will want to get your eyebrows to lay flat and blend in with your skin tone as much as possible. There are several ways to do this. I just used some eyebrow wax and a tone of heavy duty concealer. Take your bright red lipstick of choice and apply. If you feel comfortable, over draw your lips a bit for some drama.

Halloween Makeup - Disney Villains: Jafar

Last October I showed you my take on Halloween costume makeup for each Disney princess (plus a few reader requests). This October I am presenting the opposite side of the coin: The Disney Villains. These are so much fun to do and involve a lot of black eyeliner! First up is Jafar because I was watching Aladdin and thought he would be a fun and unexpected villain to start with.

Jafar is a baddie if ever there was one. He is selfish, empowered, vindictive, and ruthless. He is a very distinctive character, especially with his facial hair (which I decided to forgo) and awesome eye makeup (which I used as my inspiration). Like my take on Jasmine (which you can find here), this look is all about the eyes. I chose to go with a striking gold base and heavy structured eyeliner.

Tarte Carried Away Collector's Set (Sephora Exclusive) - Swatches and Review

I was so excited to see this kit come out for the Holidays. I immediately ran out to my local Sephora who only had 2 left! I have been looking for a nice plum eye palette for a long time and when I saw the shadows in this kit, I swooned. Not to mention that for $54 you get a ridiculous amount of products including 24 full sized shadows, 8 small lip glosses, a small blush, a travel size finish powder, a full sized blush brush, a small mascara, and a carrying case! Seriously, that is an amazing amount of products. To put it in perspective, the 10 pan Tarte eye shadow palettes run $44 each. Beyond pure economics, though, the products including the carrying case are absolutely gorgeous. Let's dive into the swatches!

The Carrying Case
I love the pattern on the carrying case. It has a retro yet sleek vibe with the metallic antique wallpaper motif. The case isn't terribly bulky and is very well organized. It has two side zip-up compartments on either side that can hold a good deal of product once the plastic inserts holding the products are removed. It folds up very evenly and attaches well with a snap in the center. I think the idea of hiding the shadows flat behind the mirror is ingenious!

Zoya Fei Fei

Rarely does a polish literally take my breath away. Zoya Fei Fei sure did! When I saw this in store I gasped I thought it was so beautiful. It does not disappoint on the nail.

Zoya Fei Fei Swatch

Color
Composed of flecks of light blue, pink, yellow, and green, Fei Fei reminds me of a pastel Mardi Gras. It is so complex and beautiful in person. Just goregous!
