One of my all time favorite lipsticks, L'Oreal Diane's Tuberose, went off the market a couple of years ago. I still have two tubes of it, but it was my everyday go to lipstick. It worked perfectly on me with any outfit and any make up. Since then, I have been looking for colors that would give me a similar feel. I picked up Revlon's Soft Rose on sale a few months ago at Walgreens and fell in love. It isn't quite as mauve based as Diane's Tuberose, but it is simply lovely. Let's take a closer look.
I have described my general love of this line of lipsticks repeatedly, so I won't go into as much detail here. Needless to say, I love the packaging and the softness of these lipsticks. Soft Rose is no exception. I actually think it leaves my lips feeling softer and more conditioned than my Revlon lip butter, which I plan to review soon. The texture on this is impeccable, plain and simple.
Soft rose has a slight brown undertone to it, more so than the cap color would suggest. There is something very ethereal and romantic about this color. It makes me want to put on a white billowy dress and walk through fields of lavender. This is less pink than many other rose colored lipsticks and would be flattering on many skin tones. I have pink undertones to my skin and often find that lipsticks with even the slightest brown undertone don't suit me. Soft Rose, however, was a bit of a chameleon, and I found it to be very flattering.
