A New Favorite - Revlon ColorBurst Lipstick in Soft Rose

One of my all time favorite lipsticks, L'Oreal Diane's Tuberose, went off the market a couple of years ago. I still have two tubes of it, but it was my everyday go to lipstick. It worked perfectly on me with any outfit and any make up. Since then, I have been looking for colors that would give me a similar feel. I picked up Revlon's Soft Rose on sale a few months ago at Walgreens and fell in love. It isn't quite as mauve based as Diane's Tuberose, but it is simply lovely. Let's take a closer look.

I have described my general love of this line of lipsticks repeatedly, so I won't go into as much detail here. Needless to say, I love the packaging and the softness of these lipsticks. Soft Rose is no exception. I actually think it leaves my lips feeling softer and more conditioned than my Revlon lip butter, which I plan to review soon. The texture on this is impeccable, plain and simple.

Soft rose has a slight brown undertone to it, more so than the cap color would suggest. There is something very ethereal and romantic about this color. It makes me want to put on a white billowy dress and walk through fields of lavender. This is less pink than many other rose colored lipsticks and would be flattering on many skin tones. I have pink undertones to my skin and often find that lipsticks with even the slightest brown undertone don't suit me. Soft Rose, however, was a bit of a chameleon, and I found it to be very flattering.

So beautiful! I have worn this nearly everyday for the past week. In doing a bit of research for this post, I found out that it has just been discontinued by Revlon. Ugh...I think my love of a lipstick curses it. In any case, you can still find this in stock at many mass market retailers and drug stores. You can also purchase it online through retailers like Amazon. It is a wonderful addition to any lipstick collection.

Stay beautiful!
