Happy New Year! I will be celebrating at home with the family. We normally rent a couple of movies, play a board game or two (we are Trivial Pursuit masters), and sip some bubbly. But just because it is going to be a relaxing night - most likely in pajamas - doesn't mean our nails can't be festive! Today I have for you two fabulous New Year's manicures and the introduction of Mama Lacquered Lady - you know, the amazing woman who bought me all the incredible nail polishes for Christmas I have been showing you. I am rocking China Glaze Marry a Millionaire, while my mother is sporting China Glaze Champagne Bubbles.

Essence Glossy Lipbalm in Pink Dragonfruit
As you all know I am a lipstick girl - tried and true. Lately, though I have been trying out some lip glosses as I have been in the mood for a change. I have also been wearing fairly light make-up which lipstick just seems to overpower. I was recently in ULTA (big surprise there, I know) and picked up one of the Essence Glossy Lipblams in Pink Dragonfruit. It was worth a try for $1, and I was quite impressed!

OPI Rainbow Connection Makes Me Happy
I have been secretly lusting after this polish since it was released. I passed up on the opportunity to buy it when I first saw it thinking it was too close to another polish I have. I then saw it all across the nail blog-o-sphere and was kicking myself for not getting it. Lo and behold I got it for Christmas from my mother who managed to snag a bottle and didn't even know I was lemming it. Seriously readers, she is amazing and has incredible taste. So here for your viewing pleasure is a polish that simply makes me happy: OPI Rainbow Connection

Merry Christmas and an Everyday Favorite
Merry Christmas readers! I don't know about all of you, but I had a simply lovely day with my family. I even got some nail polish and beauty loot that I am really looking forward to showing you in the coming weeks. I am so grateful that I have a family that supports my passion for beauty products and even indulges with me - yes, my mother also has a love of polish.
In other news, I wanted to share with you the next segment in my Everyday Favorites series by introducing you to the Olay Regenerist Anti Aging Eye Roller. I know this product has been on the market for a couple of years, and over the past year it has become one of my favorite eye creams. In fact, it is also one of my favorite Olay products coming in just behind their Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream.

Everyday Favorites: Carmex Cherry Tube
This product has been around for a while, and it's an oldie, but a goodie. I am referring of course to the Carmex Cherry Tube. I know Carmex is one of those love it or hate it products due to what many people call its medicated smell and feel, but hear me out on this one.

ULTA Nail Lacquer in Material Girl
I picked up this polish about a year ago and think I've wore it once before putting it in my collection. This past week I took the time to actually inventory my collection. It was a great experience because 1) it made me realize just how many polishes I do have, 2) I was able to get rid of those polishes I don't like, and 3) I rediscovered a bunch of polishes I didn't even realize I had! ULTA Material Girl is one of those awesome polishes I had simply forgotten about.

Holiday Polish! A Gold Glitter Bomb!
I had a bit of fun layering some gold glitter polishes. I started off with two coats of Nicole by OPI Glitter in My Stocking. This polish is simply gorgeous (You can find my original review here). I then added a layer of China Glaze Party Hearty. I wait around all year to wear this particular polish, but I think I'm going to have to break it out over black during the non-holdiay season. Enjoy this glitter bomb of a manicure!
Stay beautiful!

Holiday Face - Rudolph
I had a bit of fun with this look. I warn you it is a bit ridiculous and a little experimental. So if you find yourself dressing up as a reindeer in the next two weeks, here is an all out look for you to go with!

Holiday Face - Your Friend's Party
During the Holiday season, we are often invited to parties where we maybe know one or two people. I find these parties sometimes intimidating, so I decided to show you all my go to look for Holiday and Christmas parties when you really don't know anyone there. Granted, you can wear this look year round, but it's shimmery eye and bold lip is perfect for this time of year.

Everyday Favorites: Palladio Moisture Surge Nail Repair
As you all know, I am a huge fan of Seche Rebuild as a base coat. It really helps make my nails strong and grow quickly, but lately I found my nails incredibly dry and peeling from the winter weather. I would moisturize several times a day and use base coats, but nothing seemed to help. I happened upon Palladio's Moisture Surge Nail Repair at Sally Beauty Supply last week and picked it up on a whim. It couldn't hurt to try it. Let me say, this stuff works!

What's on My Toes? Revlon and China Glaze Layering
It's time for another installment of What's on My Toes?! Today I am wearing a fun and festive combo - Revlon Vintage topped with China Glaze White Cap. I picked up Revlon Vintage (570) this week during a great promotion at Walgreens. It is a lovely wine shade with strong pink undertones and is part of the Top Speed line. Coverage was a little spotty and uneven (even after two coats), but does dry very quickly. I recommend using a ridge filler underneath as this baby sure does show every imperfection in your nails. The color is so fabulous, though, that it is worth the inconvenience.
| Note: In person, Vintage is much more wine and less pink. |

Physicians Formula Gel Liner Review
Today, I have a quick review of the Physicians Formula Shimmer Strips Eye Enhancing Gel CreamLiner Glam Green Eyes eyeliners (say that three times fast!). Someone over at Physicians Formula needs to learn the meaning of the word concise...but I digress. I really dislike liquid liner - I am awful at applying it and it never looks how I want it to - so I have been investigating my gel liner options. These Physicians Formula gel liners caught my eye in store the other day due to their color choices and the fact that they came with three distinct gel liners.

Holiday Polish! Color Club Sugarplum Fairy + Candy Cane
I walked into Ross today, and discovered that they had two recent Color Club collections - Under the Mistletoe and Back to Boho. I couldn't resist picking up the Under the Mistletoe collection in all its glitter holo glory! As soon as I got home, I layered two of the polishes over my current mani - Sugarplum Fairy and Candy Cane. This is one glitter bomb of a holiday manicure!

Salma Hayek Nuance Lipstick in My Favorite
I have had Salma Hayek's Nuance Lipstick in My Favorite for months and never opened it. I just rediscovered it today and thought it was about time I gave it a try. I have had good luck with other lipsticks in the line (check out the reviews here), so I was pretty confident that this one would meet expectations.

Holiday Face - The Office Party
Hello readers. I am starting a new series of tutorials specially tailored to the holiday season. Most of these will be centered on Christmas. This is not meant to alienate my non-Christmas celebrating readers, but many events during the holiday season are Christmas specific. If you have any particular events during this season - or even generally - that you would like to see looks for, let me know! I am to please.
The first in this series is make-up tutorial for the Holiday Office Party. I find work related events a bit tricky. I want to look professional, but festive and still be able to express myself. For this look, I opted for a shimmery eye and paired with a pretty pink lipstick. The shimmer takes an everyday look up a notch, and the overall look is appropriate for a party during the holiday season without being over the top.

Layering: AA Peacock with FP Sparkle Top Coat
I have been in a manicure funk the past few days. I am one of those people whose nails have to match her mood, and each time I sit down to paint my nails I can't decide what I want to wear. I am a bit tuckered out of glitter, but didn't want a plain creme. I also wanted something with a winter feel, but that wasn't holiday related as I will be wearing pretty much exclusive Christmas themed manicures a week or so from now. I finally settled on a layering experiment using American Apparel Peacock with a layer of Finger Paints Sparkle Top Coat.
