One of my fabulous readers recently emailed me asking which lip brush I prefer. To be honest, I normally just slap on some lipstick when I am running out the door, but for looks when I want a precise lip - or when I am applying red lipstick - I do take the time to use a brush, but the brush I use might surprise you.
I have had bad luck with lip brushes. Typically, I find the bristles to be too long, and they retain too much product, making application goopy. The Essentials Concealer Brush from Eyes.Lips.Face., in contrast, makes the perfect lip brush. Read on to find out why!

It has been a while since I have written an eye-focused post, but I am back with a brand new eyeliner review from a previously untried brand. I was recently checking out some new shopping territory and came upon an Avon store. The prices were equivalent to those in the catalog and online so I picked up a whole variety of items to try. First on my list is Avon's Ultra Luxury eyeliner in Khaki which I purchased for $1.25! Let's see how it performed.

I was walking through ULTA last week and stumbled upon the latest OPI ULTA exclusive holiday collection, Deck Your Nails (such a cute name). I was immediately drawn to A Sparkle Yule Love. Imagine my surprise when I got home did a little online research and discovered that it is a dupe for OPI Excuse Moi from The Muppets Collection, which is almost universally sold out. I went back to ULTA and compared the two bottles - yep, they are the same product packaged under different labels. Regardless of which name it is sold under, this is one gorgeous polish.

Happy Thanksgiving! I love this holiday - the celebration of the harvest and the history behind it. I'm not a big Black Friday shopper, and this year I feel like the shopping has taken over the holiday, so I decided to do a Thanksgiving manicure. I wanted to evoke the feel of falling leaves and test drive the bottle of Shine of the Times I picked up yesterday, so I decided to layer OPI Brisbane Bronze with Essie Shine of the Times. This post is a bit pic heavy as I wanted to really capture the essence of the mani!

Hello readers. This week I received the Versatile Blogger award from Nail Designs. I am really quite flattered. It is always so nice to receive positive feedback from my readers and fellow bloggers. I do try to cover a variety of topics on this blog while staying true to my niche of eyes, lips, and nails. As part of the Versatile Blogger Award protocol, I am going to share seven fun facts about myself with you and spread the love by nominating other blogs.

Clearly I am on a glitter polish rampage...but I'm okay with that! I recently found the Wet n Wild Ice Baby collection at my local Walgreens - on the very top shelf none the less! Diamond in the Rough is the only polish I picked up from that collection as the other colors just didn't speak to me. Let's take a look:

Hello readers. I have been MIA for the past few days as life has been super busy. I am back, however, and have a new edition of my continuing series documenting my search for the perfect red lipstick. Thus far, I have had really good success finding a brown toned red in L'Oreal Color Riche Watchful Owl's pout, but have come up short finding the perfect "true" red color. That is until now. I present to you L'Oreal Color Riche Royal Red lipstick. Spoiler alert: it's a stunner!

Hello my lovely readers! It's the holidays, so I'm giving away something lovely and fun: A Limited Edition Wet n Wild I Heart Matte Eye Palette. I know several of you have been scouring your Walgreens looking for this. I recently found this at my local Walgreens and thought I would spread the joy!

I have been on a glittery nail polish kick! It just seems so appropriate and festive for this time of year, but I promise I will also be posting some non-glitter polishes soon. I recently picked up three polishes from the China Glaze Eye Candy collection. Today I have for you Material Girl, and Marilyn Monroe would have loved it!
This blog hit 10,000 page views today. I know it's not a huge milestone, but I find it absolutely fantastic! I have great readers and I just wanted to say thank you for all your comments. Blogging has been a wonderful experience for me. I'm so glad I took the plunge a couple of months ago and started up The Lacquered Lady!

Alright, so technically the China Glaze Eye Candy collection is not their holiday collection, but it screams New Year's Eve to me, so I think it qualifies! I picked up three polishes from this collection today as Ulta was having a buy 2 get 1 free sale on all China Glaze polishes. Love Marilyn is the first polish I swatched from this collection and it truly is a high definition glitter!

My local Sally Beauty Supply had some great clearance sales going on this week including the China Glaze Metro collection, Orly's Mineral FX collection, and some lovely FingerPaints from past collections. I picked up FingerPaints All You Need is Color for $1.99! This is my first time trying the brand, and overall I was very impressed. Read on to find out why!

BareMinerals is one of my favorite cosmetic brands. I love their face products and their range of eye shadows. Walking into their boutique at the mall turns me into a kid in a candy store. What I really appreciate is that you can literally try on anything in the store before you buy it - ANYTHING! I recently picked up their Light Show eyeliner collection - one of their holiday kits - and could not wait to show them to you!
Hello readers. Earlier this week, I wrote about my awesome experience with CoverGirl costumer service when one of the products I purchased appeared to made incorrectly. My history with CoverGirl has been a mixed bag. I absolutely love their eyeshadows and mascaras, but their eyeliners and lipsticks don't seem to work well with my body chemistry (even though I love their lipstick shades). So, what did I think of their Intense Shadow Blast? Read on to find out!

I just wanted to briefly share with you a product I have been mildly obsessed with since I purchased it - L'Occitane Shea Hibiscus Flower Lip Balm. In general, I really love the quality of L'Occitane products, but many of their scents turn on me. I recently discovered their limited edition Hibiscus Flower line - which smells amazing and works with my body chemistry - and have been in love with the scent. I had a coupon so I decided to pick up the lip balm/hand cream combo. Let me just say, this lib balm is amazing!

I have been on a glitter kick lately (if you haven't noticed). I picked up this polish from the current Nicole by OPI holiday line a few weeks ago and have worn it several times, including over black and white bases, and didn't realize until today that I hadn't shown you this little beauty!

I just wanted to mention my recent experience with CoverGirl customer service - which was very positive! I recently purchased one of the LipPerfection lip colors and within a month it had developed an odd smell and texture. I sent an email to CoverGirl customer service informing them of the problem. Within 24 hours, I had received an email back asking for my address to send me a replacement product. Within 48 hours of that, I had the replacement product in hand. I mean WOW! Amazing customer service! I would like to give credit where credit is due. This was the best customer service I have had, pretty much ever. Thanks CoverGirl!
It's been a while since I've done a lip post, with my going nuts over Halloween and all. Today, I'm reviewing Beautique's Lip Crayon in Shimmering Coral. You can find this brand at Sally's, and their products are rarely over $2 - which is a win in my book. I have been pleased with my other purchases from this company (you can find my reviews of Beautique eyeliner here). Let's see how the lip crayon holds up to my expectations.

Let me begin by saying: Holy Smokes Batman! This polish is gorgeous! I have always wanted to try Color Club but really dislike paying shipping costs. My mouth dropped when I walked into Sally's to renew my club card and I saw the Color Club Scent-suous collection exclusive to Sally. I was immediately drawn to Sugar Plum Yum and was not disappointed.
Are you ready for the holidays? This weekend I redecorated my apartment by taking down my Halloween decor and adding fall themed accents. I'm not quite ready for Christmas, but I sure am ready for the Holiday season. I already picked up my favorite pick from the China Glaze Let it Snow collection (you can find my swatches of Glittering Garland here), and today I picked up my favorite pick from the Orly Holiday Soiree collection - Au Champagne.

It seems like it's been forever since I did a "what's on my toes?" segment. I guess it's because I haven't really given myself a pedicure in about a month. Today, I bring to you one of my favorite layered concoctions on my toes - China Glaze Skyscraper over China Glaze Little Drummer Boy
Hello dear readers. Last week I walked into ULTA and to my shock and delight they had the new China Glaze Holiday 2011 Let It Snow collection. I have been lusting after Glittering Garland since I saw the promo shots, so I snatched it up. In fact, about half the collection was already sold out on the display. Onto the swatches!

Hello dear readers. If you have gone to Target recently, you have probably noticed all the lovely holiday products being rolled out onto shelves. I recently picked up the Eyes. Lips. Face. (e.l.f.) Holiday Eyelash Kit for this Halloween. The e.l.f. products I have used have been really hit or miss. I love their make-up brushes, but had a reaction to their eyeshadows. Continuing this trend, I also found this kit to be hit or miss. Read on to find out why.

Hello readers. I recently picked up Essie School of Hard Rocks from the Cocktail Bling collection. I only have a couple of Essie's as I haven't really been into creme finishes lately, but I simply couldn't resist picking up School of Hard Rocks!
