Happy Halloween! Today, I have for you the last of the Disney princesses: Belle. I adored Belle growing up - smart, independent, and a book worm - and I love the music for the film. Perhaps that is why I saved Belle for last. For this costume make-up tutorial, I chose a look based on her famous gold ballgown.

Halloween Make-up - Sailor Moon
Hello everyone! I went to the department graduate student Halloween party yesterday and was totally stoked to wear my costume. I have been working on it for a while and made the wig and embellishments. Last year I went as Hit Girl from the Kick-Ass comics. This year I went as Sailor Moon - who I loved when I was a kid. I guess I have a thing for female superheroes. I did a bit of research before hand and the only make-up suggestions I could find for Sailor Moon was that by Michelle Phan (well known You-Tube beauty blogger). While she had some good ideas, such as using white eyeliner to achieve anime eyes, her look is pretty conservative and I wanted something with some pizzaz. I really love what I came up with. For reference here is the original anime Sailor Moon from the 90s TV show:

Halloween Make-up - Disney Princesses: Rapunzel (from Tangled)
Hello readers. Only two Princesses left in my Disney Princess make-up tutorial series. Today I have for you the heroine from one of my favorite Disney movies: Rapunzel from Tangled. Earlier this year, Rapunzel became an official Disney princess. I love her personality - sweet, fun loving, and adventurous. Also, I love her purple gown, which I took for inspiration.

OPI Warm and Fozzie - Swatches and Review
Hello readers. Today I picked up Warm and Fozzie from the OPI Muppets line. I was super excited about this collection when I first heard about it. I LOVE the Muppets! However, I wasn't really feeling any of the polishes from this collection. That is until I saw some swatches of Warm and Fozzie. I knew I had to get it immediately.

Halloween Part VIII - China Glaze Ick-a-body
Hello readers. My nails have finally started to grow back (Yay!) and just in time to wear my favorite Halloween manicure - China Glaze Ick-a-body. I found this on clearance last spring at Sally Beauty and have literally been waiting a year to wear it. I know that might sound silly, but I am that serious about Halloween. This polish is a serious stunner!

Halloween Make-up - Disney Princesses: Pocahontas
Hello readers. Today I have for you one of my favorite Disney princesses, despite the historical inaccuracies - Pocahontas. Judy Kuhn did the singing voice for Pocahontas, and she is simply incredible. Pocahontas was one of the first Disney movies that I remember actually seeing in the movie theater and loving every minute of it. As an adult, I now appreciate the unique animation style. So without further delay, here is my Pocahontas look!

Halloween Make-up - Disney Princesses: Tiana
Hello readers. Up next in my Disney Princess costume make-up series is the princess my nieces were obsessed with last year: Princess Tiana. I was so impressed by The Princess and the Frog, and I was thinking about this make-up look for a while. My inspiration - her fantastical lily pad dress.

Halloween Part VI - Creepy Pumpkin Layering
Hello readers. Today I am showing you my second Halloween layered manicure using the prize I won from Mad Manis. Are you ready for a Halloween jelly sandwich? I sure am! I began by using Creepy Pumpkin from Fantasy Makers. I must say that when I saw pictures of this, it didn't really strike me. But when I put it on, I really really liked it. I'm glad I won the polish because I really would have missed out by not trying it. It is a very sheer orange jelly with lots of gold sparkle. This baby really shines in the right light!

Halloween Part V - Mad Manis Prize Layering
Hello readers. I am happy to say that I recently won the Mad Manis Halloween giveaway. If you haven't checked out Mad Manis you really should. Melissa and Amanda are a mother-daughter blogging team with great swatches, reviews, and photos. Plus, their nails are to die for. You can find their blog HERE. It has taken me longer than I wanted to experiment with my prize, but my nails have been unhealthy nubs. Finally, they are healthy enough (all be it really really short) to step back into the spot light. So here is my first fun layering with my awesome prize pack.

Maybelline ColorSensational High Shine Lipstick in Fruit Punch
Hello readers. My nails are still nubs, but they are getting healthier. I'm going to show you some fun Halloween manis this week, but want to give my nails another day to recover. I have had a lipstick fascination as of late - if you haven't noticed. I have really wanted to try the new Maybelline ColorSensational High Shine lipsticks. I wandered into Harris Teeter and found them on sale! I combined that with my $2 off coupon and walked away with a tube for under $3 dollars. Crazy! The color I picked up? Fruit Punch!

Halloween Make-up - Disney Princesses: Mulan
Hello all. It has been an incredibly busy week, but I hope to get back to my one post a day routine. Today, I have for you the next installment in my Disney Princess make-up series by bringing you Mulan. The feminist in me loves Mulan - she is a powerful female character who saves her family and kingdom without having to sacrifice her femininity. But I digress. There are two key Mulan looks - her natural look and her made-up matchmaker look. Let's start with the natural look first.

bareMinerals Pretty Amazing Lipcolor in Vivacious
Hello readers. I am trying my hand at another lipstain. This one, however, actually works! I am of course talking about the new bareMinerals Pretty Amazing lipcolor. I am a huge bareMinerals fan because their products do as promised and are of a great quality. I also love that you can go into the store and try on anything at any time, including lipsticks and mascaras, in a hygienic fashion. I received Pretty Amazing as part of a make-up set I recently purchased. Let's take a look!

Halloween Make-up - Disney Princesses: Ariel (The Little Mermaid)
Hello readers. I have gotten several requests to show you my costume make-up for Ariel as the next installment of my Disney Princess series. I loved Ariel growing up. I was totally one of those girls who would flounder around the pool pretending she was THE little mermaid and would use the arm of the couch as an impromptu rock to perform the final reprise of "Part of Your World." Here is the inspiration:

Halloween Part IV - Wet n Wild Correction Tape
Hello readers. I must preface this post by saying that my nails are nubs. I have been trying to grow them back out, but they keep breaking off. I know it will be a while for them to get back to being really healthy, so I have been trying to minimally apply polish and to choose colors that make them look more elongated. If you are also having this problem, I have some suggestions in a previous post about how make your nails look longer. After a week of neutral nails, I wanted something fun. I recently found the much coveted Wet 'n' Wild On the Prowl collection and decided to go back and pick up Correction Tape.

Perfectly Pink Pout - Revlon's ColorBurst Lipgloss in Peony
Hello readers. As you all know, I'm a big fan of the Revlon ColorBurst lipstick line. I recently acquired a couple of their ColorBurst lipglosses. I've really been digging more subtle lip colors lately - though I still love my red lipstick - so today I thought I would show you a very pretty classic "ladylike" pink gloss: Revlon's Peony.

Halloween Make-up - Disney Princesses: Aurora (Sleeping Beauty)
Growing up, Princess Aurora (a.k.a Sleeping Beauty, a.k.a Briar Rose) was the epitome of femininity and beauty to me. She has this beautiful long blonde hair, a songbird's voice, and a kind heart. Her make-up is also flawless, even after sleeping for 100 years. Seriously, I fall asleep on the couch for a nap and wake up looking like a total horror! I also loved that she has lavender eyes. I also went as her for Halloween one year as a child. On a side note, I still love the animation style that Disney used for the movie - it really is reminiscent of medieval styles and art. I put together a Sleeping Beauty look that will work regardless of the dress color you choose and if you want to go as Briar Rose (for you die hard Disney fans out there!). Enjoy!

Halloween Make-up - Disney Princesses: Snow White
My L'Oreal Color Riche Collection
I have been trying to organize my apartment, including my make up collection. I started cataloging my nail polishes, which has really helped me get an idea of how many I have and in what colors/finishes. After purchasing two of the L'Oreal LE Project Runway lipsticks this week, I started to wonder how many Color Riche lipsticks I have. Well, my stash is larger than I expected. Granted, several of these were given to me by my mother when they didn't quite work for her, but still, it is clearly my favorite lipstick. I'm sure I have some other tubs floating around in random purses. If you would like any of these swatched, please let me know. For your viewing (and lemming) pleasure, enjoy some lovely lipstick spam to kick off your week!
Stay beautiful!

The Thrill of the Hunt - The Perfect Red Lipstick: L'Oreal LE Watchful Owl's Pout
Hello readers. Today I went on a quest to find the LE L'Oreal Project Runway collection. I had two dollar off coupons from the Sunday paper for L'Oreal products and thought I would put them to good use. I debated greatly as to what to pick up, but I ended up with two lipsticks, an eye palette, and a blush (future reviews to come). As soon as I purchased the Color Riche Watchful Owl's Pout, I ran to the car to try it on. As you all know, I have been hunting for the perfect red lipstick. Well, I might have found it!

China Glaze Metro Collection Final Round Up: Midtown Magic and Skyscraper
Hello readers. Today I have for you my final swatches from the China Glaze Metro collection featuring Midtown Magic and Skyscraper. These are the final two polishes I picked up from the collection. Previously I searched for a dupe for Brownstone (Essie Very Structured vs. China Glaze Brownstone) and tried some fun layering with Street Chic (Street Chic meets holo!). I was a big fan of both Brownstone and Street Chic, and saved the two sparkly polishes I picked up from the Metro collection for last. Did they measure up? Read on to find out!
