Hello dear readers. Last week I walked into ULTA and to my shock and delight they had the new China Glaze Holiday 2011 Let It Snow collection. I have been lusting after Glittering Garland since I saw the promo shots, so I snatched it up. In fact, about half the collection was already sold out on the display. Onto the swatches!
Glittering Garland is a gorgeous forest green shimmer. It runs on the true green side and the shimmer is a slightly lighter forest green with undertones of gold. The application went smoothly, though I did get some patches even with two coats. This could also be due to my harried application as I was running to work right after putting this on. I am still amazed at the depth of this color. It is simply gorgeous. It really looks evergreen to me - perfect for the Holiday season, but also something I will wear all year round.
I decided to go on a bit of a dupe search as I realized this might be similar to the greens from last year's China Glaze holiday collection. Let's see how Glittering Garland compares to Jolly Holly and Mistletoe Kisses.

In comparison, Mistletoe Kisses is much lighter and blue in tone than Glittering Garland. Mistletoe Kisses is also a sliver glitter in green base while Glittering Garland is a shimmer. Glittering Garland is also much darker than Jolly Holly. Jolly Holly is also described as a forest green, but has a more yellow base than Glittering Garland. When put next to each other, Jolly Holly looks emerald in tone. Glittering Garland also has much more sparkle than Jolly Holly.

Verdict - This is a must get polish for me. It really is simply gorgeous and was really the only one from the Let It Snow collection that I was truly excited about. Will you be picking up Glittering Garland?
Stay beautiful!
